Another Bryce-generated space scene, though this one is a little different from any other I had done previously. The Earth object was created by wrapping a cartesian projection map of the Earth around a sphere primitive created in Bryce. Whats a cartesian projection map? Have you ever seen a map of the Earth where the north and south poles stretch all the way across the top and bottom of the map? Thats a cartesian projection map, and if you can bring one into a 3D program and wrap it around a sphere using a simple spherical wrap, youve got yourself a planet! I added some clouds to the Earth because the map I used didnt have what I considered to be sufficient cloud cover. After rendering the image, I brought it into Photoshop and added my image of the first-quarter moon and a background of stars which you may or may not be able to make out depending on the brightness of your monitor. |
